                                             Business Development, NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility

 

David Doss has been a Director in Business Development at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans since October 2016.  Michoud is a world-class manufacturing facility where the external tanks for the Space Shuttle were manufactured and where much of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket is being assembled.

Before joining Michoud, David served as a congressional staff person for over 20 years. The last 17 of those years were on the staff of U.S. Senator David Vitter, where he served as Vitter’s District Director during his time in the U.S. House and as State Director during his time in the U.S. Senate. 

​

David brings a diverse background to his current position.  He has experience in the Real Estate and Insurance industries and has held licenses in both professions for over 25 years.  He also spent several years as an adjunct instructor for insurance continuing education.

​

He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, attended the FBI Citizens Academy, and has participated in the National Security Seminar at the U.S. Army War College and the Current Strategy Forum at the U.S. Naval War College.  He served for several years on the New Orleans Mayor’s Military Advisory Committee as well as the Boards of two Chambers of Commerce, the Board Development Committee for the Girl Scouts Louisiana East, Chairman of the Board for Family Promise of St. Tammany, and Vice-Chairman of the Louisiana Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission, to which he was appointed by Louisiana Governor Mike Foster. 

 

David and his wife have two daughters and they live in St. Tammany Parish.
