Elizabeth "Boo" Thomas, AIA
President of the Center for Planning Excellence
Elizabeth “Boo” Thomas is the Founder and President of Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX), Baton Rouge, Louisiana. CPEX coordinates urban, rural and regional planning efforts across Louisiana and has assisted more than twenty-five communities and parishes in inclusive visioning efforts from inception to implementation. CPEX facilitated Plan Baton Rouge, Phases 1 and 2, to develop downtown into a thriving, walkable 24-hour destination. A graduate of the MLA program at LSU, Ms. Thomas and CPEX were awarded the 2009 Olmsted Medal for “incredible leadership and set the standard for bringing citizens together to work toward a shared vision for the future.”
Ms. Thomas volunteers her time generously and has been an instructor for the "Community Development" module of the Basic Economic Development Course, as part of the Certified Louisiana Economic Developer certification program sponsored by LIDEA (Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association).
